Cleaning Process

Here at Harmony Carpet Care we utilize multiple forms of cleaning. These forms include HWE (Hot water extraction), and VLM (Very Low Moisture). Each form has its own advantages and is chosen based on fiber type, level of soil, or clients preference.

HWE (Hot Water Extraction)

Hot water extraction is the most common form of carpet cleaning. It is the process of using a truck-mounted carpet cleaning machine to deliver chemical and hot water into the carpets while simultaneously sucking it out thru a high powered vacuum. This process is the best process for carpets cleaning. High heat and suction can remove all soil content and leave your carpets fresh. Hot Water Extraction carpet cleaning generally takes between 4-6 hours to dry.

VLM (Very Low Moisture)

Very Low Moisture is the process where water and chemical is sprayed onto a carpet, and a oscillating pad machine goes over it. The overall concept is a process known as “encapsulation,” in which the chemical traps all the soil and dries into a salty like material. This salty encap can then be vacuumed up and discarded. The primary benefit of VLM is that this form of carpet cleaning general dries almost immediately. It is not as intrusive as Hot Water Extraction carpet cleaning but it is thorough and even necessary with some fibers types.
